Every year on 7th September, people across the world come together to mark World Duchenne Awareness Day (WDAD). This important day raises awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) — a rare, progressive condition that affects around 2,500 people in the UK.

💙 What is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy?

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic condition that causes muscle weakness and progressive loss of mobility. Symptoms often appear in early childhood and gradually impact independence and daily living. While there is currently no cure, advances in Duchenne research and advocacy are helping to improve treatment, support, and quality of life.
