While many people value an extended overlap between carers, we also fully respect and support clients who wish to lead the handover themselves, with minimal or no overlap. For some individuals, independence, control, and privacy are deeply important — and we honour that.

Where a client chooses to take the lead, we ensure they are supported to share what matters to them, in their own way, at their own pace. This approach respects autonomy, dignity, and personal choice, while still ensuring care remains safe and well-informed.

Flexible Handover Options, Led by the Client ⏱️

We offer client - led ( minimal overlap ), or carer and client-led 24-hour, 48-hour, and 72-hour handovers for those who want additional reassurance and continuity — particularly where care needs are complex, or change feels daunting.

A 24-Hour Handover

Often suitable where routines are well established, allowing the incoming carer to observe, learn, and settle in smoothly.

A 48-Hour Handover

Provides extra time for relationship-building, deeper understanding, and gentle adjustment for both client and family.

A 72-Hour Handover

Ideal for complex needs, dementia care, or situations where reassurance and familiarity are especially important.

Equally, for clients who prefer to maintain independence and manage the transition themselves, we support short, client-led handovers that respect their wishes while maintaining clear communication and safety.
